Thanks for stopping by the blog. I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce who we are and why I created this ministry. My name is Jason, and my wife Stephanie is also part of the team, we also have two beautiful daughters that are a great blessing to our lives. We are currently in our early forties and have both been Christians for over twenty years (around twenty-five for me). We both have powerful testimonies of lives being changed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and both of us were quite the broken mess when we came to faith in Jesus.

We got saved in a very evangelistic fellowship of churches that got a whole lot right in their ministry but also had quite a few things wrong (or just a bit off, as I've grown to learn). Those early years of being in that very evangelistic culture really built a lot of spiritual disciplines, including praying for lost people, regular witnessing, praying with people to repent and follow Jesus, and following up on new believers. A lot of these disciplines are things that many Christians have very rarely experienced but were a part of our daily lives in those early six or seven years of our faith. We wound up having a pastor changeover, and let's just say the couple that came and took over our church did much more damage than good and basically destroyed that church. We tried working through the issues we were having with this couple and even had conversations with their overseeing pastor to try to get some resolution. At the end of the day, there were no resolutions, and we left that church fellowship. Sadly, the pastor and his wife eventually left that church and left the ministry completely, and that church closed its doors. Needless to say, we weren't surprised, but we were saddened to find out that news some time later.
My wife and I wound up attending, believe it or not, a Pentecostal Holiness church in the same city. That church and pastor were very good for our emotional healing after enduring a few years of bad leadership. To be a PH (Pentecostal Holiness) church, they were very conservative and very well led, as we've heard lots of stories of some weird PH churches, unfortunately. Eventually, though, I went back to college, obtained a degree in IT, and moved to Atlanta, GA, to take an intern position and kick off my career as a software engineer. This is where our faith and finding a good church took quite a few wrong turns. We visited a few churches and really tried to make a couple of them home. In the end, we always were left feeling as if these churches were lacking (which most times they were). This also led us to becoming much more disengaged from our faith, and being very discouraged at the churches we attended. We also spent quite a bit of time being more worldly, and were compromising in way too many areas of our lives I am sad to say. Very little evangelism is emphasized in most churches across America, so most Christians never get to experience some of the most glorious parts of the Christian life. A couple examples are leading unsaved people to a saving faith in Jesus or helping a new convert learn the ins and outs of the faith. This, we believe, is why so many American Christians just don't grow as they should as followers of Christ. To become like Jesus, you have to do the things he and his disciples did, and that means getting into the streets and preaching the gospel to the unsaved masses. The other big thing lacking in most American Christians and churches is working with new believers, referring to having them over for dinner, talking with them on the phone, and just loving them and helping them through the things we all experience when we first get saved.
We also are very passionate about serving other married couples and seeing them grow and flourish in oneness. We believe that the covenant relationship of marriage between a man and woman was created by God and given as the institution to carry out His purposes in the earth together as a couple.
These are also the reasons we were led to start this ministry at Gospel Evangelism, along with us rededicating ourselves and re-surrendering our lives to Jesus who has ignited the fires of evangelism in our hearts. This allows us to be in a church that may not have the evangelism part in place, but we are still able to evangelize without having to be overly critical of the church we attend. While we do believe that most churches are in error and will eventually give an account for their lack of devotion to spreading the gospel to the lost, we also believe it is not our job to change them or call them out for their errors. We can, however, assist churches (including our own) and encourage pastors and congregations to attempt to incorporate some sort of evangelism program into their events. You would think it would be a given, but it just isn't, so we hope to fill that void in whatever capacity God's grace allows. We also hope to work with churches to serve married couples and build them up to enter into all that God has for their lives. So that is a high-level overview of why we created this and what we are about, so consider having us out to your church or ministry, and let's work together to get the gospel to the lost right in your backyard.
